General information, not legal advice

This page explains how JMT's marketplace generally works, in plain language. It is general information, not a substitute for professional legal advice, and does not itself create additional binding terms beyond what is stated. JMT may update this page as the service evolves. For a transaction-specific question, contact JMT support.

  1. 1.Platform role

JMT operates a verified marketplace and export-support platform connecting international buyers with verified Japanese sellers of used construction machinery, trucks, cranes, forklifts, attachments, and parts. JMT is the transaction intermediary: sellers list machines, buyers send inquiries and requests through JMT, and JMT coordinates the inquiry, quotation, and handover process centrally.

  2. 2.Accounts

A buyer account is required for high-intent actions such as sending an inquiry, requesting a final quotation, and downloading the full listing photo set. Browsing listings and submitting a wanted-machine request do not require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

  3. 3.Seller listings

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their own listings — specifications, photos, condition, and price. JMT reviews listings before they go live and may request corrections, but publication does not mean JMT has independently inspected the machine. Sellers must disclose known condition issues; buyers should ask JMT to confirm any detail before relying on it.

  4. 4.Buyer inquiries and quotations

Inquiries and requests for a final quotation are sent through JMT, not directly to the seller. JMT reviews each inquiry, confirms listing and seller status, and routes it forward. A quotation JMT confirms in writing is the reference point for price and included services; listing prices and availability can change before a quotation is confirmed.

  5. 5.How a JMT-managed transaction works

Once a buyer accepts a quotation, the transaction moves through a defined sequence — payment, machine preparation, inland transport and loading, export handover, and seller payout — with status visible to both sides at every step. JMT coordinates this process; it does not transfer ownership of the listing itself and is not a party to the underlying sale of the machine in the way a reseller would be.

  6. 6.Payment

Buyer payment is processed through a JMT-managed transaction rather than paid directly to the seller. Seller payout is released after the machine handover is confirmed and export shipment documentation is verified. All contract amounts, payments, and payouts are denominated in Japanese yen; any USD figures shown on a listing are display estimates only and do not fix the contract rate.

  7. 7.Export shipment documentation

For international transactions, JMT coordinates export shipment documentation as part of confirming that a machine has genuinely been handed over for export. This documentation review is a condition of releasing seller payout, not a guarantee of shipping timelines or of customs clearance in the buyer's destination country.

  8. 8.Generator Buy Now orders

Eligible generator listings may be purchased directly through Buy Now. This is a separate, simpler order path from the JMT-managed transaction described above: submitting the Buy Now checkout form creates an order request, not a payment, and no online card payment is taken on this website. JMT reviews availability before final confirmation, then sends a proforma invoice and payment instructions manually. JMT prepares packing and shipping once availability and payment are confirmed, and the buyer can follow status updates in Buyer Hub. The displayed Buy Now price includes shipping to a supported destination sea port in an export wooden box/crate where applicable; import duties/taxes, customs clearance, destination port charges, local registration/compliance, special inspections, and inland delivery after the destination port are not included unless separately agreed.

  9. 9.Seller payout

Seller payout is recorded once the conditions above are met. JMT keeps a system-of-record entry for each payout and separates who records a transaction step from who authorizes payout release, so no single action can move funds unilaterally.

  10. 10.Used machinery, as-is condition, and changing availability

Machines listed on JMT are used equipment sold on an as-is basis unless a listing states otherwise; neither the seller nor JMT provides a mechanical guarantee beyond what the seller discloses. Prices, specifications, and availability shown on a listing can change before a quotation is confirmed — JMT recommends confirming current details through an inquiry before making purchase decisions.

  11. 11.Fees

JMT may charge platform fees, seller listing credits, or service fees for specific transactions. Applicable fees are disclosed to the relevant party (buyer or seller) before they are charged, not buried in these terms.

  12. 12.Prohibited activity

Users may not misrepresent a listing or their identity, attempt to bypass JMT's inquiry and quotation process to transact off-platform, evade sanctions or export controls, or share another user's contact details without authorization. JMT may suspend accounts or listings that violate these terms.

  13. 13.Disputes and corrections

If a transaction is disputed, contact JMT support with the listing or order reference. JMT reviews the available record — inquiry history, quotation, status timeline — and works with both sides toward a resolution. Corrections to a listing or an account are made by contacting JMT support rather than through self-service edits after certain steps.

  14. 14.Limits of JMT's role

JMT is a marketplace and transaction coordinator, not an inspection company, a customs broker, or a law firm. JMT does not guarantee a machine's mechanical condition beyond what the seller discloses, does not guarantee shipping timelines, and does not provide legal advice on import compliance in any buyer's destination country.

  15. 15.Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to JMT support through the contact page. For a specific listing or transaction, include the listing reference so JMT can look up the right record.
